Chulalongkorn Business School Alumni (CBS Alumni) Strengthens Bonds and Explores Toyota's Advanced Manufacturing and Sustainability Initiatives

Chachoengsao, Thailand – February 28, 2025—The Chulalongkorn Business School Alumni (CBS Alumni) recently organized an insightful study visit to Toyota Motor Thailand's Ban Pho assembly plant in Chachoengsao province. The event aimed to foster stronger connections among alumni while providing a firsthand look into Toyota's cutting-edge automotive manufacturing processes and its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

The visit, supported by KINTO through Toyota Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., offered participants a comprehensive understanding of Toyota's value chain. Attendees engaged in informative presentations on advanced vehicle production toured the state-of-the-art and eco-friendly manufacturing facility and explored Toyota's dedication to sustainability.

A highlight of the program was a visit to the Toyota Biodiversity & Sustainability Learning Center, “Cheewa Panavet" where alumni gained valuable insights into environmental conservation practices. The event also featured Togeta Coffee a sustainable coffee brand committed to promoting Thai coffee on a global scale and enhancing the quality of life of coffee farmers under the Royal Project at the Phu Phayak Royal Development Agricultural Station in Nan province.

The study visits to Toyota's Ban Pho plant underscored the CBS Alumni's and Toyota's shared commitment to ESG principles. The program aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • Environmental Sustainability (SDG 12 & 15): Participants witnessed eco-friendly manufacturing practices and learned about biodiversity conservation at Cheewa Panavet.
  • Social Impact (SDG 8 & 17): The event supported Togeta Coffee's social mission and strengthened alumni networks.
  • Good Governance (SDG 9): Alumni gained insights into Toyota's advanced manufacturing processes and ethical business practices.

This immersive experience successfully combined educational enrichment, networking opportunities, and a focus on sustainable development.
