Toyota Leasing (Thailand) Launches KINTO Hackathon 2024 "Visionaries Beyond"

 

Toyota Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. drives innovation and fosters a culture of creativity through the KINTO Hackathon 2024, themed "Visionaries Beyond." For the first time, university students from Chulalongkorn University and University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce were invited to compete in developing marketing plans for KINTO's Car Subscription product, shaping the future of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in the Thai automotive industry.

Bangkok, THAILAND (November 3, 2024) – Toyota Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., has initiated the inaugural KINTO Hackathon 2024 "Visionaries Beyond" at TOYOTA ALIVE Bangna. This event aims to encourage Thai university students to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills in developing marketing strategies for KINTO's innovative Car Subscription model, aligned with the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS).

The competition garnered significant interest from students of Chulalongkorn University and University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, with a total of 50 teams participating. The 10 finalists presented their innovative ideas to drive the growth of KINTO.

1. Winner

    Team UrbanOrbit  from University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce

    Strategy : KINTO prioritizes user convenience, offering a 14-day free trial for car model upgrades and flexible mileage plans. Users can also book cars beyond designated locations via the app.

2. The 1st Runner up

    Team Power Puff Girls from Chulalongkorn University

    Members : Jiratchaya         Auesriwattanakul

                           Kanyarat           Dangngam

                           Sirikorn             Plienmolee

    Strategy : The 3-year plan aims to acquire and retain customers by leveraging influencers, social media, behavioral analysis, and a tiered membership program.

3. The 2nd Runner up

    Team HungryDuo from Chulalongkorn University

    Members :  Thanakrit           Suratanachaiboonlert

                             Poonyanuch      Weeratutprapa

    Strategy : KINTO uses a multi-stage strategy to attract and retain young adults (18-26 Y.O.) through social media, influencers, campus outreach, and incentives.

Ms. Chuenkamol Dapparungsi, President of Toyota Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated, "The KINTO Hackathon 2024 marks a significant milestone for Toyota in empowering Thai youth to shape the future of the automotive and financial industry. The competition, which garnered significant interest from students of Chulalongkorn University and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, showcased innovative ideas to drive KINTO’s growth. TLT aims to utilize these ideas to innovate product offerings, such as introducing car subscription models to young generations, enhancing the user experience through streamlined app optimization, and promoting sustainable mobility with electric vehicles or variety package initiatives.

Beyond fostering innovation, this project aligns with the UN’s SDGs by emphasizing sustainable transportation and energy. TLT recognizes the importance of collaborating with educational institutions to develop skilled talent and contribute to Thailand’s sustainable growth.
