Thai Intelligent Traffic Information Center Foundation (iTIC) Holds 5th iTIC Forum 2024, Emphasizing the Importance of Traffic Discipline through AI Technology

 

November 7, 2024 – The Thai Intelligent Traffic Information Center Foundation (iTIC), in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University and Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., have organized the “iTIC Forum 2024: Safe & Smart Mobility by Traffic Discipline” at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The event attracted experts from various sectors, including public and private organizations, to discuss and exchange ideas on leveraging smart technology to enhance traffic discipline and road safety.

The objective of this year’s iTIC Forum was to promote traffic discipline and smart technologies for sustainable travel and mobility safety. Key innovations were highlighted, such as using AI systems to detect one who note wear helmet among motorcyclists. Additionally, the forum served as a platform for in-depth discussions on traffic safety, featuring insights from both public and private sector experts.

The event opened with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Vilit Puwirat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and was followed by Dr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, former Minister of Transport, celebrating Thailand’s progress in intelligent transportation and traffic systems. Khun Ninnat Chaithiraphinyo, Chairman of the iTIC Foundation and Honorary Advisor of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., was also recognized for his contributions to advancing safe and sustainable transportation through smart technology and artificial intelligence, including real-time traffic information and CCTV integration across agencies, which has been in developing Bangkok as a “smart city.” In recognition of his dedication for becoming the first Thai to receive the Hall of Fame – Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th ITS World Congress on September 16 in Dubai, UAE.

Toyota Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., led by Ms. Cheunkamol Dapparungsi , President and our executive team, showed support in the forum and continued their commitment to impactful projects aligned with the ESG Principles: Environmental, Social, and Governance, following the framework of Corporate Sustainable Development Goals aimed at creating a sustainable future.
